One of my core abilities and passions both personally and professionally is connecting people – to each other, to resources, to information. I am a veteran magazine and website publisher of over 20 years and know how to use these platforms to forge connections and incite change that matters.

I am a mother of two, have worked as a doula for over 40 years, and have attended over 100 births. The birth of my first child was traumatic for us both and I didn’t feel that I “owned” my birth – At age 19 I didn’t have the information or support to know better. I then started educating myself and surrounding myself with all members of the birthing community. Witnessing a birth makes me feel closer to what one may call the Universal Source, and I believe it is my spiritual work.

In addition to being a former Bradley Method childbirth instructor, I am a Certified Instructor of Infant Massage through International Association of Infant Massage and the co-founder of Doula Sisters, offering birth and postpartum support services. I have recently had the opportunity to increase my contribution to this community, and I recognize the need for a comprehensive directory of the services and products available to expecting and new parents in Humboldt County. I hope to meet this need utilizing my background, expertise, and passion to bring you Humboldt Umbrella!

I am a local doula and new mother here in Humboldt, with a degree in Early Childhood Education. I love working with moms, children and families to connect them with the support they need. As a local birth-worker, I get to see first- hand how fortunate we are to have such a wonderful birthing community, and I work to help families make the best informed decisions possible. I have a passion for information and love sharing it with you through this online resource guide. As parents, we are all in this journey together; please find the support you need through this sacred transition.
